JIB SET FLEET
In August 2008, JIB SET took delivery of the first of our growing fleet of new Martin 244 performance pocket cruisers - MARTIN 244 - Sailing Reinvented. This latest Don Martin design is built to our specifications for a club, school and recreational sport keel boat. Featuring a large comfortable cockpit and a cabin with spacious berths and head, the M244 is also trailerable.
Cooper’s ‘legacy’ fleet of Catalina Capri 22s, and Martin 242s is also available to JIB SET members. The entire pocket cruiser fleet is the first step up from dinghies to larger cruising yachts. They have proved themselves over many years and many sailing courses to be safe, stable and easy to handle.
All boats are equipped with outboards (fuel is provided), and the safety equipment required by Transport Canada (flares, buoyant heaving line, sound signaling device etc.). PFDs (life jackets) in all sizes from kids’ up to XXL are available from the ‘Crow’s Nest’ - our club house in the boat yard that also has a washroom and a warm, dry place to change or have a cup of coffee.
Sailors wishing to experience larger boats can charter two well equipped cruisers - a Catalina 28 and a C&C 29 or even bigger boats from Cooper Boating, Canada’s largest charter fleet of modern yachts. Cooper’s fleet includes famous brands such as the Bavaria, Dufour, Hunter, Jeanneau and Sun Odyssey, ranging in length from 28 to 50 feet.
